It is very stable. I don't know whether you can say it's rock solid. But it's definitely stable enough for a workstation.
Try it out first with your setup and requirements in a virtual machine. If it meets your requirements and stability, then transfer it to your bare metal system.

      Like AlphaElwedritsch said, and I wholeheartedly agree, it's very stable. But that's also Xfce itself. I've used Xfce for almost 20 years and was happy to see Solus adopt it as a DE. I've been using it the past several months without any issues, and I can't figure out why they still say it's "beta". 😀

      Also, Solus has a great Xfce configuration out of the box that fits how I like to use it. Only thing I changed was to move the panel to the top of the screen.

            Interestingly, I ran into an issue with the installer crashing on an older HP laptop. It could not find a suitable partition. Did not expect that after a pretty smooth run with it in a VM.

            I have a Lenovo laptop with Solus Xfce. On X11, it's perfect, no issues. I tried Wayland, and there are some issues, but that was to be expected, Wayland on Xfce is experimental. I would totally go for it.

            Solus Xfce beta is like the experimental Solus Plasma ISO, before Solus Plasma was officially released. It was supposedly experimental, but I didn't have a single issue with it.

              Same here. The only reasonable place for a dock (IMHO) is at the bottom.

                          We have not forgotten. We intentionally left the Beta tag on Xfce for now, while we are polishing our distribution of it. We'll remove the tag when the team feels the DE experience meets our quality standards.

                              TraceyC As a person that does not have the time for much troubleshoot, I will say that it is really nice. Once I get my audio out issues resolved, it will be perfect for my purposes! Thanks for the hard work on the edition!
