Good evening, I think it's a shame not to be able to enjoy Solus Budgie with an Azus laptop.
no choice for scale 150 % only 200 or 300 , I installed KDE plasma but the battery goes down quickly . there is no possibility to add the parameter manually ?

  • Not at this time no. Budgie and Gnome do not support fractional scaling on X11.

Budgie has been focusing on Wayland support for some time now, I assume they'll support fractional scaling under Wayland when its ready.

I have the same issue (Asus Vivobook 1404 with a 14" 1920x1080 resolution display, 150% is the best scaling, 100% too small and 200% to large). I've found a viable option is to set Text scaling to 1.50. Not quite the same as 150% fractional scaling, but workable.

Hi Brent! I've been reading the forum while absent. I hope that the issue with Edge/Flatpak (Edge would not load following a Flatpak update) are resolved. I'm not sure what the issue was, but the problem started a few weeks before the commotion. I really missed Solus.

thank you for your answer in this case I will wait
    and follow the news

Increasing the global font scale is a solution that works, not as good as fractional scaling but it works.

You might try BetterScale - I used it previously, but I don't have it installed any more, so no guarantee that it still works. It claims "BetterScale helps Gnome & Budgie x11 users perfectly scale their desktop."

It's easy to delete if it's not working properly.

    9 days later

I switched to KDE plasma because it's not pretty for the Budgie desktop, even with the 1.5 font

I also tested this BetterScale ( merci tonyk ;-)) but it's not pretty either!!!!
maybe one day the budgie desktop will be with wayland

Well done for your work on this lovely cast from Solus
    Merci

Budgie 10.10, which is expected to be released this quarter if all goes well, will be Wayland based. Solus is expected to update to Budgie 10.10 after thorough testing, so I expect that we will be able to use fractional scaling by mid-summer at the latest.
