I've put off doing a reinstall many times. Every time I thought I've messed my system up beyond repair I've somehow managed to bring it back. My system is only stable on LTS kernel and if I try to switch to current I am presented with a black screen, it's lit up, just black. I thought it was a condition of the abuse I had put my system through. I decided to do a reinstall, and the usb drive boots to the exact same problem. I tried all 3 boot options, and added nomodeset to the debug option; and none of them boot far enough to even load a tty. I get no debug messages, absolutely nothing; just sits at a black lit up screen.

cpu: ryzen 7 5800x3d
gpu: nvidia 4070 12gb OC
mobo: x570 chipset
uefi
I tried security on and off.

BuzzPCSOS Thanks for the heads up. I did try to search for it last night, but most of the stuff I saw was from 2020, It was also 2am so I was a bit sleep deprived. Looks like I'm just waiting for a new iso release.

If I could get my current CURRENT kernel working properly I'd probably just clone and expand my filesystem instead of a reinstall, but I'm not even sure how to start debugging the problem without any error logs

Staudey I'm about 99% positive I did, but I will try again in a few hours.
I thought doing a nomodeset would at least allow me to access a tty, but it still just goes to a black lit up screen

Apparently the newest NVIDIA cards (4xxx and later) absolutely require the proprietary firmware to properly boot (from what I've heard). This is not part of the installation media (yet).

That's disgusting. I already didn't care much for Nvidia, and that doesn't make me like them anymore. I found this card for $130usd at some amazon overstock / return store and just got into running my own A.I. models so I figured why not. This is why not

Also I'm 100% sure now. I'm not sure what I've done. I think this installs been running since just before covid hit on an already 8 year old ssd that only has 120gb of space. I have a little over 5gb left and that alone could be causing some issues.

I think it's time to start fresh. I'm just gonna hang tight for a new ISO. Thanks for all you do!
