so im having some strong flickering every now and again and im just wondering if this is a common thing ? its never happened to me in the year i have used linux mint, but it was common before when i was still on win11.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 3060
driver 565.77

conner067 I don't run Nvidia, these suggestions may not work but worth a try.
There have been a few historic issues with Nvidia. I suggest that you search through the forum for 3060 to see if anything jumps out.
Make sure you are using the Nvidia drivers and not the nouveau ones.
Try changing display resolution and refresh rates.
    Hope something here helps.

    A couple of questions:

    1. Did you use the nvidia installation method when you installed Solus?
    2. Have you tried using DoFlickey to uninstall/install the driver?
    3. Is this under a Wayland or X session?

conner067 What kind of flickering are you talking about exactly? Screen tearing?
I don't think I've ever encountered any kind of screen flickering except tearing, and with a Wayland session I don't encounter the latter either.

This nvidia-settings command fixes screen tearing under X11 for me

It used to cause issues with Steam Proton games in the past though, not sure if that's still the case (as I mostly use Wayland these days)

are you getting lines of black/white artefacts because i've been getting those too for a while. I'm hoping it'll be fixed with the switch to wayland. Thankfully it doesn't seem to happen in full screen proton games so it's definitely something linux related
