Solus doesn't detect UFS drive

First off I'm trying to install solus on a asus E1504GA laptop with a universal flash storage drive. Solus doesn't detect the drive at all. I've install fedora, windows 11, and endeavouros on it and it worked fine. I've used this thread and got linux mint working on the ufs drive just fine. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

you weren't clear about everything so I would say don't use Ubuntu forum, use Solus requirements for preparing USB: https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/quick-start/installation/ which are pretty basic.

The second thing is...you might have to prepare the drive that solus is to be installed on: preferably gpt-formatted with UEFI. Any deviation from that may require reporting back here since grub, dual or triple boot, etc are all factors in install

My one lenovo uses emmc and its crash prone.

From my understanding the linux kernel supports it

I did install it on a external drive and it worked fine, Solus didn't detect the internal UFS ssd drive to install it on.

darkserge I would boot Solus live and go into gnome-disks and see if it shows up
at all.

Axios mind blowing. If notdisks then sudo blkid?

Axios do you mean gparted? It doesn't see the drive as well

darkserge Ok gparted and gnome-disks are two programs but that answers my question
Appears solus maybe isnt loading driver or something.
Other than that sorry could not be of more help havent dealt with UFS I am sure somebody will chime in.
At least its a starting point.

darkserge If you do (lsmod | grep ufs ) from terminal does it show anything

Axios thats what I was thinking, I noticed both kernel driver ufshcd and kernel modules ufshcd_pci are not loaded on lspci -vv. Maybe thats the problem.

brent I wanted make sure it wasnt an installer issue

Axios op opened an issue on devtracker. blkidor fsck would probably be the last detection confirmation there was, as least at a sudo level. or dmidecode. If mostly undetected it would be a significant clue, but I know nothing about UFS (I thought I kept up with the reading!) so will bow out myself.
