marcell After a fresh install, vulkan applications would refuse to launch, but vulkaninfo reported the correct version and drivers. Flatpaks also did not work: launching them from the console gave the error vkGetPhysicalDeviceSurfaceCapabilitiesKHR VK_ERROR_UNKNOWN (-13) or just simple segfaults. The problem can be fixed by manually adding the user to the video group, but this probably should be done automatically by the installer. This is on the gnome version of solus, the graphics drivers (nvidia) were installed with doflicky along with the vulkan packages.
TraceyC Please open an issue on our bug tracker for this. By opening an issue, it will allow our developers to look into it and keep track of progress. Thanks.
TraceyC For your own system, if you have to reinstall, we are preparing to release 4.6 in the near future (no ETAs).
marcell Thank you for the help, I will open an issue. The system does not need reinstalling and runs without problems after I added my user to the video group.
TraceyC Thanks for opening the issue. We have found so far that users are added to the video group automatically with 4.6. This, however, was a red herring, there are other problems being explored in the bug report.
