zmaint I saw this was working now, what packages do I need to install to get it working and also working with flatpaks? Thanks!
zmaint EbonJaeger Worked perfectly. I personally like using the terminal, but this will be super awesome for the retirees I have using Solus. Currently I have a couple that use a few flatpaks, and I had to write a script for them to do updates. This will work much better.
brent zmaint how is it compared to gnome-software (which does nothing for me)? Still got that ridiculous 'editor's pick' stuff and completely unsourced/undated app reviews like gnome-software?
zmaint brent Honestly, I hate Gnome with such a burning passion that I've not used it in forever and just don't remember 🙂 Gnome's failures along with Pop's inability to release non-buggy upgrades and their wonderful ability to black screen Nvidia drivers at nearly every update, is what led me to Solus.... where I've been ever since and will be hopefully forever!
WetGeek hunzel why is using discover better than using the script? It's been discussed a lot here, but you can try it for free and see for yourself. Personally, I use eopkg to do ordinary updates, but I still find Discover useful to have on hand.
zmaint hunzel Well I have my parents (70's) and some retiree friends (early 80's) on it, as well as some non-techie friends of mine. It's just easier when used to a windows environment to just "run updates". Also my wife likes seeing the bars move, she finds it gratifying.
hunzel zmaint I would have not thought of that, thank you! I didn't realize it wasn't your, but a remote system. I can relate that seniors might have a problem when not relying on a GUI as discover.
