Hello community!

Small question but potentially complex answer. I own Starfield on steam. I'm on Solus Gnome (4.5), and everything has been working perfectly for weeks, except...this game. The performance is catastrophic, much worse than on Windows. I'm on a laptop with an i5 9th, and a 2060M.

I've heard of GPU sharing, but I've only got one; no chip integrated into the processor. Apparently, you can share the GPU in the virtual machine, but only if the host no longer has a display, with the possibility of going back and forth between the host and the VM if necessary. I've done a lot of research, but I'm a bit afraid of crashing my system. Could someone here take the time to explain the procedure to me, or give me one or more links that work?

Thanks in advance!

Have a nice day 🙂

I don't know about GPU sharing, but have you checked if there are troubleshooting tips for Starfield on Linux? I see some people on ProtonDB mention certain parameters that may or may not help (no idea)

FAb7D To tell the truth, I think Looking Glass still needs two GPUs and the script I was talking about I think was this https://github.com/joeknock90/Single-GPU-Passthrough, as I said never tried.
Regarding looking glass, even if I had the time and ability to do everything necessary to make it work (since I still have 2 GPUs), I don't think it's currently as easy as I wish to switch from one to the other with Solus, since you still have to choose one GPU for Solus and normally you use the best of the two which is also the one you would like for passthrough, but only when you need a Windows program that uses the GPU heavily. In practice I think we need two good GPUs.
