Pots Hi, thanks for Solus, I love this distro, for my work and for gaming. But in my laptop MSI, the battery life is not good. My laptop is pretty old and the battery too, but I wonder if there are some tips to do to improve my battery life. thanks
Axios Pots Do you know the actual state of your battery? Doing fine tuning ect without a good battery is a lost cause. Battery info is in flatpack Anything below 70-75% depending on machine and hardware you will start to notice it. (If the capacity isnt there nothing really helps) Kinda echos buzz post abit but to my specs.
BuzzPCSOS Pots if your laptop is still running a HDD then there are power (and time) savings to be made by replacing HDD for an SSD. If your laptop is really old and features a removable CD/ DVD drive then remove it. It will also save a small amount of power. Sometimes even a cheap knock-off battery can be an improvement over an OEM version that is well past it's sell by date. Check battery health using inxi -B once you start getting below 50% anything other than replacing your battery is a waste of time.
AlphaElwedritsch Not really You can try playing with TLP, but I don#t believe that it will improve your battery life. TLP can be found in software center
brent type 'battery life' into solus search. a lot of tips are TLP package, as @AlphaElwedritsch said, and lots of tips are not.
AlphaElwedritsch The most important thing is that you are not disappointed at the end, you should not expect miracles
