DirtyAngel At installation password size is over 300 chars.
I can't imagine a password (or passphrase) that long, but probably neither could the developer. Are you shooting for security that would take a government agency 5 billion years to crack?
I have a similar, yet different, issue. My wife insists on using the name of her favorite cat (now deceased), which is only 5 characters. Since only she and I have physical access to her laptop, and she's an Alzheimer's patient whose only installed apps are three solitaire games, I don't argue about it. But when I install Solus Plasma, the installer tells me it's too short and won't continue.
The solution is simple, though. I simply add a couple of characters to the password during installation, then afterwards I use the passwd
command in a terminal to change it to what she wants (and can remember). There doesn't seem to be such strict rules from the command line as the installer uses.
Is is possible that you could use a simpler password to get your system installed, and then use the passwd
command from a command line to change it to the one you prefer to use?
