I can't extract files from File Roller to Nemo by drag n drop. Should it work? How can I troubleshoot this issue? I'm also open to suggestions for an alternative archive manager.
PS: I'm using Solus Budgie

Hmm, I thought that should work. Only thing I know is that it didn't work with Nautilus (because that is gtk4 and file-roller
doesn't support its drag-n-drop protocol [or sth])
edit: Oh, apparently file-roller
was ported to gtk4 in version 44, so maybe we have the opposite problem now? I guess that explains why I also had some issues with it a few days ago.
Budgie+Nemo+Fileroller drag and drop works fine here
Oh file roller 44.3
I could not get it to act up.
Apparently this will be fixed by this: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/merge_requests/112 (or some potential improved patch)
But it has not been approved and merged into the codebase yet.
ok had another look. I just don't know how one can conjure the fileroller to drag something in it. fileroller only opens when it's doing stuff for you.
find nyxt on github, select targz:
at this point I don't know whose/what window this save window is ^^^? nemo's? system?
hit save. it closes. navigate via nemo-proper:
doubleclick and poof there is the fileroller:
at this point this is not some static window ^^ to drag and drop in, is it?
hit extract and fileroller morphs into another incarnation:
this window not active for drag and drop and never will be, right? ^^
hit extract a second time and mission accomplished:
so, like Axios, I spoke in error as well. I thought you meant some variation of all that stuff I posted.
