ok this gives me hints when I type. GREAT!!!

If you are using Plasma it has a built in emoji selector thats a bit more user friendly. Simply press:

meta key (windows key) + .

This opens the above window and you can search for emoji's and click to copy the one you want and ctrl + v to paste it elsewhere.

Note this utility can not be installed on other DE's, it is built in to Plasma.

Harvey Note this utility can not be installed on other DE's, it is built in to Plasma.

Note: It's also available from the Plasma Utilities menu, for those of us who can't remember cryptic keypresses. I put it on my "dock," to make it even easier to use.

GNOME users can also install the emojy-copy extension.
Similar to the Plasma emoji selector Harvey mentioned, you can open a selector window with super key + .

Sebastian yeah smallish app with 0,8 GB extra component
and there's not even crazy emoji

Gotcha, almost 1GB of dependencies for an emoji selector is certainly disproportionate. There are also some on Flathub. You might find one there that fits your needs.

AlphaElwedritsch Well, it's not that bad... to each his own

Jelousy is such an ugly thing. ๐Ÿ˜„ Seriously, installing an application from a foreign DE that has a lot of dependencies from that other DE can be an eye-opening experience. And it goes both ways -- KDE on a GNOME system, or GNOME on a KDE system.
