Black screen after update

Hi,

I found similar questions but nothing recent or working for me. After installing latest updates (5th of july) I get a black screen with an underscore cursor blinking, every time, without getting to the login screen.

At boot the current kernel is selected by default (6.8.12-293.current). I also have another entry saying "alternative entries" but nothing special happen if a select this option. Not sure if I have an LTS kernel.

I am basically a noob. What should I do to fix this ?

You may want to try this before you use chroot. Press Ctrl+Alt+F2 or F3, log in to your account. Do:

sudo usysconf run -f
sudo reboot

That works. Thanks a lot ! I was prepared for a complete reinstall. I never did it since Solus 1.0, only updates. This distri is quite robust.

Would you mind explain me what was the purpose of this command ?

Highlight the main boot entry, press e to edit the boot parameters. Make sure to remove quiet splash and change systemd.show_status to true instead of false. Then boot (with F12 if I remember correctly) and see if it outputs any error.
