I don't have GOG, but Proton is available here, if you need to manually install it: https://sourceforge.net/projects/proton.mirror/ or you could go with Eggroll.
I have just checked Steam and it's available there.
Proton 9.0.2
Im using Heroic Games Launcher.
s the reason i play on steam normally, but since i tried Heroic, i prefer that one.
Not one single game i have tried to install via Lutris is working.
That
Just to make sure i installed Manor Lords via Lutris script and i get exactly the same error message as on Heroic.
Microsoft Visual C++ not found.

did you make sure it is installed? it maybe not and wine/proton is not letting you know
Interestingly nobody on ProtonDB mentions such an issue, or that they had to specifically install any Visual C++ runtime.
https://www.protondb.com/app/1363080
MikeK61 Right click on the game and combatibility then choose the proton version.
It's 9.0-2
not 9.0.2
in case this is what's confusing you? If that one doesn't show up make sure all the settings in Settings->Compatibility are enabled.

Hi Mike,
for the error "Microsoft Visual C++ not found" you have to use wine- or protontricks.
I don't know if Lutris has it but Heroic has.
For heroic, open it go to your lib.
click on the game settings (3 bars with dots) icon
select the wine tab and scroll down
click on winetricks
click on open winetricks gui
standard wineprefix should already selected so press "ok"
click install windows-dll, it's on the top, ok
then you have to scroll down nearly and find and select (check mark) "vcrun2022" and press ok. you can also use ctrl+f and search for it. its also possible that the game needs an older version its's a bit trail an error.
You may get some error messages, just press ignore then. at the end. vcrunxxx should be then visible under installed components in the winetricks window from heroic.
Your game should now run. Had to to the same for Harry Potter Legacy and some others too.
Thank you very much Phiqu.
This sounds promissing.
To be honest i never really understood how protontricks works.
I can`t find my game in Protontricks.
Can you explain for a noob in this case how i can find the game ?
Also i do wonder why this is not reported on ProtonDB.
All reports mentioning Proton 9.02 but i only find 9.0 beta.

Huhu Mike, protontricks finds your games just when the game is purchased direct with steam or when you add a non-steam game to steam.
When you bought the game via GOG you should use/try wine-ge (can also be loaded in heroic) instead of proton cause proton is normally just used in combination with steam purchased games. Sometimes proton also works (even better), but outside of steam, normally wine-ge which includes also proton stuff should be the way to go.
(Proton-GE can also be modified with in heroic launcher with winetricks, the same way I mentioned if you what to test proton)
Got it running with wine GE 8.26.
Thanks for your kind help Phiqu.
