Thanks for your comment. Yes, in fact, I use Arteck keyboards (best I've ever found), so bluetooth from the same company works well. I'm pretty sure my Latitudes support BT5, because that's the requirement for the Logitech Triathlon mouse I've used for years (3 channels needed for the multi-device feature). I did a firmware update yesterday, so today I'll try again to see if anything improved.

In this case, I rather suspect it's KDE Plasma 6 still having some issues that need to be sorted out. The new mouse works fine with my Windows 10 media machine, and with my Samsung smartphone, and both of those are happy to connect in less than a second. And Plasma 6 still has some other oddities. I'm hoping those get fixed soon.

Gnome-software updated flatpak runtimes which is cool and my keyboard-mouse firmware which is also cool
without issues.
Seems to work a whole lot better than like fedora it always had issues.

I used it this morning to update the DELL firmware on my Xfce laptop. I'm pretty sure it did everything that Discover has done on the Plasma laptops. I can't say whether gnome-software compares favorably with Discover when it comes to other features, as the only feature I've used is firmware update, but it handled that well indeed.

The ping issues still persists for me. I'm on kernel 6.8.11-292.current.
I can ping 192.168.0.1 just fine, but pinging e.g. www.example.com will lead to
PING www.example.com (2606:2800:21f:cb07:6820:80da:af6b:8b2c) 56 data bytes
where it stops the output.

As mentioned in the update thread of week 16/2024 the issue seemed to be fixed.

linux-current and addon kernel modules cherry-picked to fix regression with ping and other networking issues.

Web requests are still slow to respond on other occasions, too - like starting a stream or doing a system update via Software Center. Am I supposed to install linux-current-headers to get the benefits of the updated kernel? I'm not sure what to do about this issue at all. When I boot into an installation with an old kernel the network stuff works as expected.

Some webpages sometimes won't load for some reason(spiegel.de, github..), even though I am listening to radio stream via audacious and other pages do load, so I clearly have internet connection. Turning network off and on solves the issue reliably.

I found time to debug the spotify-qt issue and it turned out to be a configuration issue, not sure what trigger it.
Deleting spotify-qt.json and re-configuring the app fixed my issues.

brent It has like a physical touch button (antenna symbol). When I touch it, internet and bluetooth both get turned off and symbol color changes von blue to red. If I touch again, bluetooth and internet both turn on, and symbol cloor changes von red to blue. What it does exactly, I don't know. Something like flight mode, I suppose.
After doing so, network issues disappear.

Sebastian OK. I'm spitballing and probably completely off the mark but I wonder if technically--with your manual intervention--the networkmanager.service (or similar) falls into a state between active and failed somehow. I think there's like 5 states a.service can be in. Like I said, I'm probably pretty far out there..

Sebastian Maybe you can check this way wether its a dns issue.
Use nslookup
With the server command you can switch the dns servers, see wether the domain can be resolved using your local dns server, if it's failed look wether it can be resolved using some public dns server, for example the google one:
