First, some housecleaning: I'm a "new-old" user here. I was previously on the forum under "mdiemer," but I couldn't log in, and not knowing how to contact admins, I created a new account. Sorry if that is not cool, and feel free to delete the other account.
Now to my problem: I just acquired an HP Elite 8300, refurbished, and installed Solus last night. I attempted to update, but it seemed to be hung up on extracting. It was on something like 42 out of 400 or so, and just kept spinning. Against my better judgment I shut down, but then Solus would not boot, saying there was a problem and the system could not recover. So I just reinstalled, and that's where I am at now. I don't want to try another update until I get some feedback on this.
Other than that, everything looks great. I've been wanting to run Solus for long time, but the machine I use for Linux has really bad graphics. Now I have a better one, and it runs Solus great. I just need to get this update thing fixed.
Thank, michael
