I've done them all and so far I find I am the most productive in GNOME, followed by Budgie. I've tried every release of Solus now on my LG 45" UW monitor and they all work perfectly on it. Now only if my Steam games all worked on it correctly.

Like @alfisya, I love the Application Launcher. I can see and read them without needing my glasses. 😁

That is one thing I like with Gnome too. The Dashboard on KDE is not near as good. And every other launcher in KDE uses 32px and downwards icon images which makes it hard to see the icons.

I just switched from Xfce to Plasma because of wake-up issue. I like the minimalized of Xfce a lot, but I could stay no longer with that issue. So far, I have no big issue with Plasma 6 except known flickering issue with Nvidia driver + Wayland. Happy until now 🙂

You can strip Plasma, so it become minimalism. I have done so far. Removed the "extra" entries in dolphin as an example and strip Dolphin to its barebone:

Download the Solus Gnome ISO and install it or if you are not using Plasma you can do this:
https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/software/desktops/#gnome-shell

Personally I only suggest reinstalling with the edition you wish to use.

I installed Solus Gnome in a VM to give instructions on using a wayland session but it appears to be the default:
