elfprince lf-araujo Hmm, just checked and mine is sitting at 3%-7%. It is possible that sometimes there could be a spike, depending on what's happening at the moment.
lf-araujo elfprince I have the impression this happens if I leave the computer for some time and upon returning the spike happens. This is occurring to me 2-3x day.
lf-araujo Oh, the issue looks a hell lot like this: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/444750/how-to-disable-xorg-logging
elfprince lf-araujo "the solution was to replaced gdm with sddm. Any other display manager will probably also do, " We (Solus Budgie) use lightdm, so that case as described in that post is not the cause, imo. Unless your Solus is running Gnome?
brent elfprince I'd have to agree. didn't get in that link where he was seeing audit -4 from (what app or log?) but just knowing the leak (fault the correct word?) gets patched immediately on switching DMs is interesting.
brent https://forum.manjaro.org/t/xorg-leak-xorg-process-consumes-a-lot-of-memory-as-time-goes-on/5020 fascinating thread doing time-consuming linux elimination detective work to isolate the running process/app that's bleeding the xorg, as it were. inxi (under-rated app imho) does most of the heavy lifting and it's a log-driven journey. the symptoms matched yours closely and I read all sorts of threads for quite a while. You have what I call a typical "weird" problem as all these "all sorts of threads" have no uniform, unifying answers. all different-a** answers. but this one was painful enough to be true. fwiw. ten cents.
lf-araujo This issue is weird, a whole week passed by without it and suddenly: I will keep investigating, I can't pin down what is causing this.
