Yet another, fresh install of Solus updates are slow

I just finished installing Solus KDE on the Framework 16 laptop. After booting in I started updating, but it's taking an hour to install 446 updates from 4.5 ISO, and it's only 53/446 downloaded 🙁.

I saw old posts about changing to the CDN for shannon, etc. and followed that. Still super slow download speeds. I am getting 310 Mbps download speed in Firefox via wifi, but eopkg is taking its sweet time. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to speed up this 1.53GB update?

Bhibb I have had issues in past but been good for along time.
Think alot of it is the CDN its a complicated animal did alot of testing at the time thats kinda where
I ended up.

How did you get this figure? Have you actually clocked download speed from other sites or is this just the arbitrary figure that your internet provider has quoted?
Have you tried downloading with an ethernet connection to your hub instead of WiFi as there are plenty of reasons why WiFi connection will be less than ideal.
Are you trying to update via the software centre or from the terminal?

Axios Slow download. I haven't even gotten to installing yet. It's still at 87/446 packages downloaded 🙁

could be the wi-fi network is a little busy at the moment, give it time

Try using a vpn, it might get it faster or slower.

alfisya good idea. I downloaded some more packages to that machine today and it was still slow, though faster than yesterday. I'll try a VPN and see if that speeds things up if I appear closer to, say, Europe or the like.

Alright gang, thanks everyone for their input. I'm not sure if it was just the time of day, or the install but I did the following and now my updates are quick:

Reinstalled Solus KDE
Reinstalled as btfs instead of ext4

Now everything is snappy. Thanks for your replies!
