touzain The Microsoft distribution is with a specific licence. Even when disabling telemetry, you do not disable everything as described in Microsoft terms of licence:
That does not matter, we are not using MS builds we build it ourself. We could not use the MS builds even if we wanted to because the license forbids us distributing it.
touzain when I plug a USB key and want to double click on it, for a reason I do not understand, VSCode is launched and displays the device content.
If I am understanding you correctly it sounds like a mimetype issue, one which I do not have on Plasma. I am not sure why this happens on gtkland but I've heard of people working around it before.
It is possible our .desktop file for vscode having inode/directory
causing Budgie to do stupid things. I would have to try reproduce it in a VM.
VSCodium makes two changes. Branding and telemetry off by default which as you suggested would not affect individual extensions.
EDIT:
It is indeed a mimetype issue (Thanks for confirming Reilly). Its due to Solus not shipping Budgie/Gnome with default mimetypes. It will be fixed eventually.
