post-update Firefox font weirdness in xfce

this did not occur before update. only after update.
only firefox. not libre wolf, not ungoogled.

there's more pics in the same vein. pics are of general webpage reading.
Firefox default font was Noto Serif.
Changed it to Noto Sans. Still messed up.
Changed all of FF to Droid Sans and problem SOLVED.
Conclusion? Broken Noto? sudo eopkg check says all Notos green OK.

posted for posterity. maybe its related to somethin else?
and for anybody who opened FF today and their default stock fonts wigged out.

ps- this didn't happen in Budgie, FF, post-update, last night. Relevant?

Did you reboot after the update? Because others have reported the issue going away after a reboot.

Harvey actually it did not go away after changing fonts.
no, did not reboot. updated xfce and continued to work til now.
great idea. I give it to people all the time but didn't remember to do that for myself!
will report back. thanks for responding and thanks for passing on the affirmative chatter it's happened to others.

that did it, thanks to you both. weird for sure. ff uses the noto system font? but so do other apps that weren't effected..meaning update affected profile folder? eh, nevermind! don't need to tangle what's untangled🙂.

Yeah, a reboot should fix that. Not sure why it does that to be honest.

brent I've also seen it affect e.g. the Budgie menu, so it's not application-specific. It's just particular circumstances that cause it. (whichever those are ^^)
