Bravo for your very nice video presentation.
I am myself a French user of Solus Budgie and I appreciated your impartial comments concerning this distribution, whose team of developers undoubtedly does a quality work to make it a pleasant, fluid experience with an elegant desktop , whatever the flavor chosen (Budgie, Plasma, Gnome and XFCE, the last born) and a software library rich in applications. You've rightly noted that Solus starts up very quickly (as does switching off the computer), which sets it apart from most Linux distributions in this respect.
I do not speak fluent English, which does not prevent me, not only to read the posts of this forum, but also punctually to participate or ask questions. How ? By using a translator in Firefox:
- either the one integrated in this internet browser, which is off-line,
- either, for a finer translation, using the TWP (Translate Web Pages) add-on.
As for the readability problem that can be encountered on the LibreOffice tool bar, it can be easily adjusted by going to the Tools menu, then Options, then selecting in the Display section, another icon theme, for example, Colibre.
Personally, I use the Qogir-Dark theme for Widgets and Icons in Solus Budgie.
As you can see, the Solus user community is very lively and ready to help anyone encountering a problem in Solus.
For my part, I made Solus my daily distribution in April 2020 (at the time, with version 4.1, Fortitude) and I've never regretted it.
And that's despite the headwinds that, for a time, could have seriously compromised its future. Today, however, the outlook is promising, judging by the sustained efforts of the Solus development team and a growing user community.
So, welcome, wishing you a great experience with the Solus of your choice. As it is said here "Install Today. Updates Forever."
Best regards.
