  • KDEnlive don't start anymore, on Solus 4.5 Resilience

Hi,
I use KDE 23.08.4-94 on Linux Solus, since few years without problems.
But a few days ago, KDE doens't start, with message "ré-initialiser les fichiers de configuration" (re-initialize configuration files).
I didn't understand what it means... ??
So I desinstall and reinstall, same problem.

I don't know if it is a Solus problem, or a KDEnlive problem?

I install the flatpak version (following https://www.numetopia.fr/comment-installer-kdenlive-sur-ubuntu/) It works few days, but now not start, see message in terminal:

$ flatpak run org.kde.kdenlive
qt.glx: qglx_findConfig: Failed to finding matching FBConfig for QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags<QSurfaceFormat::FormatOption>(), depthBufferSize -1, redBufferSize 1, greenBufferSize 1, blueBufferSize 1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize -1, samples -1, swapBehavior QSurfaceFormat::SingleBuffer, swapInterval 1, colorSpace QSurfaceFormat::DefaultColorSpace, profile  QSurfaceFormat::NoProfile)
qt.glx: qglx_findConfig: Failed to finding matching FBConfig for QSurfaceFormat(version 2.0, options QFlags<QSurfaceFormat::FormatOption>(), depthBufferSize -1, redBufferSize 1, greenBufferSize 1, blueBufferSize 1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize -1, samples -1, swapBehavior QSurfaceFormat::SingleBuffer, swapInterval 1, colorSpace QSurfaceFormat::DefaultColorSpace, profile  QSurfaceFormat::NoProfile)
Could not initialize GLX

$ flatpak install flathub org.kde.kdenlive
Looking for matches…
Skipping: org.kde.kdenlive/x86_64/stable is already installed

And I have some video editing to do...

Instead of solutions, I tried the Appimage version.
But it doesn't run (it's blocked with the colored start picture, and it's grinding)
I try again, and it said "want to re-initialize configuration files?", I said Yes, but it doesn' t run. (same if I choose the other option)

Some ideas please?
(I post that on KDE forum too)
Thanks

    I cut 3 files in .config
    kdeglobals
    kdenlive-layoutsrc
    kdenliverc
    And after that the desktop KDE start again! Thanks :-)
    without my personal configurations, but it's not a big problem.
    So I can mark the thread solved.

Is your flatpak system up to date? Sometimes you need to run an update on it, as the dependencies packages gets updated.

    Thanks
    I do that, and after update of flatpak, KDE run again!
    I'm not familiar with flatpak...

    Regarding the first problem (now the second problem is soved). Try delete the configuring files of KDE in your home directory. Warning, it will reset your KDE set up, so you have to set up things afterwards. You'll find the files in ~/.config

    EDIT: I must been tired. I didn't see that you wrote your system was up and running again. If your problem is solved to your satifactory, can you please mark the thread solved, thanks.

      I wrote up a help center document on how to safely delete KDE's caches and configuration files. It's in final review, for technical issues outside of the document. You can see it here.

      Go down to the section "Application windows look corrupt / incomplete". Follow the steps for "clearing KDE / Plasma cache files".
