The issue occur during the detection.
I tried with a live CD under linux mint and the printer was directly detected. I tried plan C (change driver) without success. I am ,not a expert on informatics and I was unable to execute the scrip install-sh.

    Axios
I did it but it did not pop up and when i click on searh drivers it did not find any drivers

emmerich I understand you should be able to make it work either way if its auto installed
      or manual.
I am sure it should work with what I gave you if it doesnt I dont have an answer to as why not at this point.

If anybody see something I am missing chime in..

emmerich Use the select from database and install printer that way
after you do that make sure the name is the same as i showed if it dont popup say printer added it wasnt.

yeah wasn't sure he tried to do it the normal way🙂. here.

also I forgot to say sequence matters
        1) delete all printers and printer folders
        2) reboot with printer on
        3) solus will see it as Epson of cups but install from the solus driver list

          brent Its interesting
Should be so simple its not funny.

brent I delete, printer from "imprimante". I do not know where printer folder is. I reboot with printer on but it does not work

emmerich you started fresh and it doesnt even see epson in any way shape of form?
did you start and the beginning with 'add a printer.'?

is the epson in 'add printer'?

(generic cups is in mine, but I did not install)

Axios printing issues like this I--and you--could solve pretty easily. these days not so much. I wonder what changed? I feel like I got smarter with a trick bag over the years not dumber...I feel dumb on these threads anymore.

the last couple we tried to help never wanted to do the 'mapping ip address' trick. I have only had success with that..but it's hard to find the true printer IP. seems easier to find the usb:http:// number. not sure these are the same.
              anyway.

                These steps in order.
1 delete that printer from printers
2 click on add printer its not going find it but add the generic cups (thats the one you are going to change)
3 select printer and add from database (find your printer there and add it)
4 change Name to (Epson_Stylus_Photo_RX520) exactly
5 At some point should have had system popup saying printer added
6 when your done should look like this

brent Ya seems like the printer gremlins are restless lately
I think Solus is just seeing more traffic and use (which is good) so more things are being seen
Its always a challenge helping ppl remotely cant be an attitude thing for people or one way street
when others are trying to help.
Lot of need for instant gratification out there life just does not work that way.

Axios falls off his soap box--Thud

plus I think there was a language barrier here. When I knew nothing about Linux (still) and I ran into problems, I was very open to the troubleshooting process, still am. I understand for peripherals and Linux there was no instant gratification---and what you touched upon is KEY: if you want it bad enough you can make it happen. Even if it took days.
I wish more people would do the IP address thing, it has saved my bacon and basically seems foolproof to get a printer seen by Solus (or whatever). No one wants to go that far down the hole! At least with the last few we helped out out in it would confirm something or rule something out.

yeah I also agree the printer gremlins are really whacked out lately

I'm also off the soapbox and off topic!🙂

Axios Hello, I made exactly the procedure from 1 to 6. It does not work even Solus said the test page is print.

                      emmerich
Last ditch effort I tried it and sets connection Do from terminal
Sorry I forgot about the connection setting.

1 lpinfo -v should see something like this for your RX520 (direct usb://ZP/LazerJet%20MFP?serial=42)
                      so it would look like this ( lpadmin -p Epson_Stylus_Photo_RX520 -v usb://ZP/LazerJet%20MFP?serial=42)
                      (Example)

2 add that line to the end of this and hit enter (lpadmin -p Epson_Stylus_Photo_RX520 -v )
3 should have changed the connection for the Epson_Stylus_Photo_RX520 printer
we should be connected to printer if all went well.
                      4 test
If you dont show your printer in 1 then we have deeper issues.

Note This is a follow up providing you didnt change your previous settings in previous post
meant to be done along with it.

                      Thanks for doing that

emmerich Does lsusb show it connected
Also I would try uninstalling Sane it can cause issues with some printers.

Makes sense why it cant auto detect your printer one Line away from working sheesh

Note Just thinking sudo scanimage -L if it shows addy for printer might be able to use it you said scanner
                        was working

If this doesnt yield results am out of ideas for moment maybe somebody has another idea.

Axios If this doesnt yield results am out of ideas for moment maybe somebody has another idea.

manually map ip address in printer dialogue is all I got. force solus to see it.
see a lot of this no autodetect lately--I can't even begin to know what that is all about. maybe you are right too many backends (sane) installed?

Axios the sudo scanimage -L shows the scanner :
But I do not understand what to do wthit the description of the device.

Axios in adtion the answer with lsub with the detection of the printer

emmerich Use this command in the previous post and see if it works (It wont dork anything)
                            lpadmin -p Epson_Stylus_Photo_RX520 -v epson2:libusb:001:005

Something software wise is keeping it from being seen its seeing scanner fine

I think if the above does not work uninstall sane -shutdown-unplug printer
when booted up fully plug printer back in and try to add printer like normal.

What we did was set it up manual but without the connection info it does not know where to send it.
thats why when you print test it prints a loop with those 2 notifications.

I know linux had bug issues with sane keeping printer from detection just process of elimination
If all that fails I am kinda in the dark but at least we know whats happening
and maybe Mods-Dev have a answer.
Its just I dont know all the deep inner workings of linux.

                            Let us know what happens

Edit- I was just looking you might try setting up a new printer using the pm 750 driver worth a try
