Handbrake 1.7.1 is missing the x265 codec. Maybe due to the libde265 update? Prior versions were running flawless during the last years. Switching over to the flatpak in the meantime.

I'd recommend opening an issue for this over on our issue tracker
Just an FYI but there is an update to 1.7.2 with some big fixes. Not sure if they fix this particular issue so you might want to check GitHub and see if there is anything in the commit history that looks like it might help.
rav101 Cool. The best way to get that update to the attention of someone who can actually get it into the repository is to open an issue for it.
