Hi everyone, I am just thinking, if Solus OS has GUI app for install/uninstall Flatpak applications will be almost the perfect Linux distro.
Do you have any ideas is it gonna happen any time soon... ?
Flatpak GUI app
sergo75 if Solus OS has GUI app for install/uninstall Flatpak applications will be almost the perfect Linux distro.
I'm not sure what you mean by "almost..." Many of us think that Solus is already the perfect distro, and getting even better with each update.
Seriously, the Eopkg package manager is going to be replaced by an entirely new one, called Sol. I believe it will first appear in Solus 5.0, but perhaps a team member could confirm that based on how things are proceeding so far. The Solus Software Center has always been a front-end for Eopkg, and the new package manager will have a new graphical front-end. Flatpak will be handled gracefully by both.
I agree with Wetgeek here.
I`m using Bauh for nearly a year now it can handle both flatback and snap.

I thought that was old news? That is, there were plans for a new package manager, sol, but the current plan is that Solus 5 will be based on Serpent OS, and therefore the new package manager will be moss.

Can't give you an ETA but team members have been working on integrating eopkg in packagekit, which would enable Solus to use GNOME Software (draft implementation here) and (KDE) Discover for package installation, which both have flatpak support.
Very very very good news these. A simple way to utilise flatpaks through both most established stores used in Linux! But will snap packages then be in the same position if you know? Even though they don't keep noise about it, snaps are used by millions and essential for software availability in such huge amount of cases. For me too; i use both flatpak and snap quite 50-50.
Both work great now!
I like to install and update in command line but when I uninstall, I use a flatpak program, warehouse: https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.flattool.Warehouse.
Maybe this tool will help?
