Solus Not Consistently Recognizing Brother Printer

I use Brother HL-L2390DW. Forgive me - been doing a bit of distro-adventuring lately. I installed fresh Solus copy 7 days ago. Gave up because printer not recognized. It has always been recognized in the past. 3 days later another fresh install and printer recognized fine. Today printer not recognized with another fresh install. When I booted up the initial test desktop, printer recognized fine.

Whassup? Any ideas? This is maddening. I've really taken a shine to Solus and want to make this work. Thanks.

Dutchmaster I have the 2315DW (in repo). Try that. Also try in the add printer box a model above or below your number. This is called the Fake Out and I've used it successfully in setting of other DEs.
Maybe an all purpose brother package in repo too.

I went back and installed it several times. On the third try the printer was recognized. Bizarre. Anyway, all is well . Fingers crossed.

Dutchmaster forgot to state the obvious for Solus: reboots do miracles

I would do an update on the printer software itself ( I think thats done from the printer isnt it)
see if that helps
Note if it does it again try unplugging AC wait a few plug in and try installing it see if it does it first time.
(Dont let it sit for long before you try)

I did all that stuff. Reboots by the score. Uninstall and Reinstall and boot - every combination I could think of. It's beyond my pay grade. And it may be something is dying in my printer? Who knows? I'm just glad it's working now. Thanks for walking with me through it.
