Hey there.
Ever since the last big update my laptop freezes up a couple of seconds after boot. If i'm fast, I have the time to log-in and open a terminal window but not fast enough to type in anything.

I'm running Budgie on a MacBook Air from 2013 (A1466).

I tried booting with the previous kernel but the system still freezes up.

I should mention that shortcuts to control screen brightness and keyboard backlight don't work while frozen.

Any help is welcome !

Well, don't log in via GUI, but go to TTY (Ctri+Alt+F2 or another F) and check the logs. E.g.: journalctl -p err -b -1

Hey Pomon, Thanks for the reply.

I had forgotten ctrl + alt + f2 was a thing. I tried pressing that key combination after choosing the kernel until arriving at the login page and sure enough the TTY showed up and I furiously started typing my username and password but didn't even have time to do so that the crash occurred throwing up the following log.

I wish I understood what was wrong or how to revert the update in some safe mode.

pomon Wow, thank you. I've followed the instructions from plutuplutu to remove the broadcom driver and I got it to boot. Looking for a fix on the github issue now.

Thanks again.
