I tried to install it and remove it but both didn't work. It said package was not found.
what to do?

  • Hi,
The failed update messed up my system. I tried rolling back using history -t command but it didn't fix it.

But I was able to recover it with your help. I ttyed into ctrl+alt+F3 and tried your suggestion.

Directly running eopkg it https://.........chrome-gnome-shell... didn't work because it said that package was not found. So I wget https://...... and it was able to download the package locally. Then I installed it from local using eopkg it ./chrome-gnome-shell.....eopkg. It installed and then I was able to upgrade it but there were some conflicts. I ran eopkg check | grep Broken | ....... to fix issues, which fixed few packages, then I was able to update successfully. It also fixed the gnome session which allowed me to log into the GUI and write this message to you.

I wish eopkg should have an alias for rollback and fixing broken packages, because there is no way I would remember that command sequence.
