I have just installed Solus OS Budgie 4.4, due to wanting to try the Budgie desktop and after the announcement of the upcoming lack of support for the Mate desktop that I was using previously, I figured now is a good time to try it. I typically use my laptop connected to an external monitor with HDMI, and have the laptop lid closed. I am having trouble figuring out how to do this with the Budgie version, however.

Troubleshooting steps already attempted:

  1. Use default power application (does not have option for this)
  2. Install gnome-tweaks (does not have access to power settings)
  3. Edit /etc/systemd/logind.conf (file does not seem to exist by default, I used ls -a, is this wrong?)

  • I ended up solving my own issue - I just needed to create the logind.conf file at the appropriate place and add a line to it. Thanks for your help though.

Is there a "FN" Key with what looks like a TV screen on it? It's F8 in my case.
If I press this function key it changes which screen is on and which is off eg TV monitor on or laptop screen on or both on or both off. My display is set to "Mirror"

Or maybe you could post where you placed this file and its contents so that others with this problem can also benefit from it?
