I recently read an article about Gnome Web and just for fun i installed it to test it out. The first thing i found out was that gestures work so i could pinch to zoom with two fingers.
This did not work in Firefox on my system with Solus Budgie.
So then i googled how to make this work and found this:

  1. In Firefox open page about:config find the line dom.w3c_touch_events.enabled and set the value to 1.
    1. In file /etc/security/pam_env.conf add line (in the end of file) MOZ_USE_XINPUT2 DEFAULT=1 and reboot your machine

So i did the two steps above and rebooted.
And voila now gestures work in Firefox on my Solus Budgie system.
I hope this information can be useful for all that want this feature to work with Firefox and Solus Budgie 🙂

tflovik changed the title to How to enable touchpad gestures in Firefox .

I'll add that for all the people who use GNOME and gestures don't work - try logging out and switching to Wayland (if possible). They start working (at least for me) out of the box without any tweaks.

Miko Yes in wayland you get gestures out of the box, but in X11 you need to do the steps i wrote, they also work for Gnome if you use X11.

tflovik That's what I've figured out. Just wanted to leave a comment in case someone sometime wouldn't know what to do
