Trust you are dealing with a nontechnical user who needs elaborate specific instructions known to work.
I have had no luck using the network manager with credentials from either platform. It seems to require certificates for connecting which neither furnishes. If I use the OVENVPN option for password only, and enter the node, username and password the save option stays grayed out.
