I tried this also on a Lenovo Legion, got the Nvidia driver installed but could not find a way to switch to it.
There is some software that is needed for this to function, namely envycontrol which is a cli program that enables switching between igpu and dgpu. And for gnome which i use now on Debian you can install the GPU profile selector which is an extension that make you switch from the menu bar.
I don't think envycontrol is available in Solus, that's a shame because i would definitely run Solus Budgie on my Lenovo Legion if i could make it switch between igpu and dgpu.
On Debian which i run on this laptop now i have to manually set up the software but it woks fine.
In Linux Mint it worked out of the box as soon as Nvidia driver was installed.
I prefer to use Debian with Gnome and Arc menu + dash to panel so i can have a desktop that looks close to Budgie.
