Unable to launch Proton Steam games

After this update Steam Proton games fail to launch.

x86_64-linux-gnu-capsule-capture-libs: warning: libudev.so.0 has an unexpected DT_SONAME, ignoring: libudev.so.1 pressure-vessel-adverb[18071]: W: Cannot run /sbin/ldconfig: Failed to execute child process "/sbin/ldconfig" (Too many levels of symbolic links) pressure-vessel-adverb[18071]: W: Recovering by keeping our previous LD_LIBRARY_PATH wine: could not load ntdll.so: /home/<username>/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton 7.0/dist/lib//wine/ntdll.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Sorry if this is has a simple fix, this is a little outside my knowledge.

EDIT: Rolled back and I can launch games so it is definitely related to the update.

If you haven't done so already I would advise turning off native runtime in Linux Steam Integration found in your system menu.

Exit steam -> launch Linux Steam Integration -> disable use native runtime and close -> start steam

Note for any readers of this topic: Harvey has already pushed a patch so this behaviour (native runtime off, i.e. LSI deactivated) will be the default from now on.
