I wouldn't be worried. The team has reached a level of equilibrium that hasn't been present for years, if I'm completely honest. Right now the focus is on removing the architectural smells from Solus that have long pervaded such as Python 2, moving us towards a point where a Serpent<->Solus relationship can truly begin.
In regards to "future", that is Solus 5, based upon Serpent technologies. We recently unstagnated Serpent efforts by shifting from D

We're now having some conversations about how best to balance the needs of Solus 4 vs the solved issues in Solus 5 and how to begin working towards that properly.
Solus has been through many storms, however we now have a robust and capable crew including the original captain. I wouldn't worry one bit. If anything, I'd be keeping my eyes peeled for the latest developments =)
