After hibernation I can log in at the display manager and I can then see the Budgie Desktop, complete with all of the programs which were previously active, but I cannot interact with the desktop at all. The cursor moves on the screen but no clicks or keyboard key presses are registered. I can open another TTY (ctrl+alt+F2...F6), enabling me to reboot gracefully but obviously this loses the previous DE state.
The hardware is a 2015 Macbook Pro. The swap partition is equal to the amount of RAM (16GB). The behaviour is the same whether closing the lid and re-opening, or manually clicking hibernate
from the power menu.
I searched this forum for potential solutions as I expect this is a well-trodden path, and I found mention of editing /etc/systemd/logind.conf
but it seems this file does not exist.
Many thanks
