atriaze yours is the complete diametrical opposite of the OP's problem.
40 sec vs instant.
in jumpy's case it could be:
-watchdog hung up on something
-ip addresses/ports being petitioned (held up by traffic), especially if ufw
is being used
-stuff is just busy man
-needs updates
the DRM stuff in that output is weird but probably unrelated. I've seen it go over a minute before the blue light on my monitor turned orange, indicating OS was shutdown.
There's probably a dozen factors I don't even know about that come into play here. that said, 40 sec not unusual.
As far as your instant shutdown, some nights it goes that way. All in all, when I power Solus down I don't watch it but I have to guess it averages about 20-25 sec.
SHORT VERSION: I don't find 40 sec unusual and I don't find instantly unusual
