Do Gnome extensions work on Budgie DE?

Hey all. I know Budgie uses a lot of the Gnome stack, and after searching this forum I couldn't find anything about Budgie and how it relates to Gnome extensions.

My use case is simple: I want to see if I can get gsconnect on my Budgie machine. Is this possible?

The GSConnect github/wiki lists how to install from the zip, but it also says it relies on the latest Gnome implementation, so I'm a bit out of my depth. https://github.com/GSConnect/gnome-shell-extension-gsconnect/wiki/Installation#standard

GNOME extensions do not work for Budgie. They don't share that much. That said, last I knew, GSConnect was implemented by a standard tray icon; though whether this is still the case, I have no idea. KDE Connect works just fine on GTK desktops for the same reason.

EbonJaeger That's great news (about KDE Connect working fine on GTK desktops). And you're absolutely right, it "just works!"
