After using a dock for a few days while investigating the Xfce desktop, I wondered how it would be to use one with my customary DE, which is KDE Plasma. So, knowing that I could easily undo anything I did in order to change my desktop around, I installed the Latte dock from the Solus repository. My first impression is very favorable, but I do have one very minor problem that could use some help from someone who's used Latte for more than a couple hours.
This image shows the Latte dock which now nearly duplicates what was in my Icon-only Task Manager before I removed that. (When I installed Latte, it already contained most of those launchers.) I've added one or two that were't present, and rearranged them to match the order of my desktops in the Workspace Switcher applet, but for some reason, I couldn't move the Dolphin launcher to the right, to put it next to the Terminology launcher.
I admit, this doesn't really matter a lot, but it just doesn't feel right to be able to move the other launchers so easily (click, pause, then drag), but not to be able to move the Dolphin launcher to the position it occupies in the Workspace Switcher applet. Or move it anywhere, for that matter. It appears to be fixed in that spot, and I don't know why.
For what it's worth, using this dock took almost no time to figure out, unlike the one in Xfce. I fussed with that one for a full day, trying out how to use it, before I asked for help. This one I figured out almost immediately, it was so intuitive.
Thanks in advance for any advice that helps me to move that un-moveable Dolphin launcher!
