Installing OnlyOffice Desktop Editors using "Snap" but failed

I tried to install OnlyOffice using command line:

$ sudo snap install onlyoffice-desktopeditors

Then, something like this went out, (OnlyOffice not showing up in the Start Menu):

Fetch and check assertions for snap "onlyoffice-desktopeditors" (155)                              error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Run configure hook of "onlyoffice-desktopeditors" snap if present (run hook "configure": 
-----
cannot update snap namespace: cannot use "/etc/fonts" as mount point: not a directory
snap-update-ns failed with code 1
-----)

Can anyone help me fix this? I use OnlyOffice and it's important for me and my father to type documents. Just switched from Ubuntu to this operating system (Solus OS) because of performance issues.

sangheeta Okay, I'll try Flatpak... Based on my experience Flatpak seems more outdated packages compared to Snap packages. Thank you.

snap and flatpak are v7.4
Appimage is always late but works fine (v7.3.3), I use it 🙂

I don't think snap should be run with sudo

nolan the command used to install matches the instructions on snapcraft.io. also, if I remember correctly, almost all snap commands are sudo snap option. Flatpak is typically run as flatpak install org.onlyoffice.desktopeditors without sudo.

Most likely an issue with the package.

Hmm, that directory is a symlink on Solus. Could that be causing issues? Seems like it's been a problem for certain snaps for quite some time (e.g. https://github.com/canonical/multipass/issues/2582)
