In general, I expect audio/video files/streams playing in the moment of suspension to resume playback on wake-up. However, this is not always the case.
Here are my observations:
• playing local video file with mpv/celluloid: all fine. Playback resumes on wake-up.
• streaming Youtube videos with Brave browser: no resume on wake-up. You have to click play again on youtube to continue playback.
• playing local audio file with Museeks music player: no resume after wake-up. You have to click play again in Museeks to continue playback.
• playing local audio file with Rhythmbox: all fine. Playback resumes on wake-up.
• playing internet radio stream with Rhythmbox: no resume on wake-up. (internal data stream error) You have to click play again in Rhythmbox to continue playback.
• playing internet radio stream with audacious: no resume after wake-up. You have to click play again in Audacious to continue playback.
most annoyingly:
• playing local audio file with audacious: Playback continues on wake-up, but no sound output! Not even after toggling play/pause/stop. Audacious sound output starts working again only after you have played another/same audio or video file with another player like Rhythmbox, celluloid...
I suspect all the streams not resuming playback has to do with no internet connection available right away and no sufficient buffer. Anything we can do about that?
And foremost, what about the other cases? Should not in all of theses cases playback just continue after wake-up?
