  • Ethernet connection dropping intermittently

I'm having a weird issue with my wired connection and Solus lately where whenever my PC goes to sleep and wakes up it will have issues with ethernet connection dropping out intermittently. I did spot it happening rarely when it didn't wake up from sleep.

I've tested my ethernet cable on a different machine running PopOS and no issues. I've also dual booted to Windows on my PC and also no issues?

Would anyone be able to help me out looking into this?
Thank you!

you might have to find a compatible match between the power settings and screensaver settings. if you force it to hibernate then of course the connection goes flat. but when you wake it up it fights to stay connected...after its connected...why would it struggle?
unless its is manually enabling a service that should be always enabled? or a swap issue?
Hope you get other opinions--that's all I could think of.

I've decided to reinstall and go with KDE. The issue stopped.
Not sure what was going on with GNOME exactly...

Whatever the reason that brought you to that decision, you're going to be very happy with your choice. Plasma is small, fast, remarkably configurable, and reliable. Lots of us here use it, for one reason or another.

It can be confusing for anyone to use a new DE. If you have any questions about where to find a setting, how to create virtual desktops, or whatever, just ask here in the forum. You've got people.

How old was the previous installation?
