Have a laptop with old Nvidia GPU, installed Davinci Resolve. The application was starting without issues. Busy for month, keep applying all updates. Finally noticed resolve will not start. Blender recognized CUDA and Davinci Raw speed tester continue to work.
error: ./resolve: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libpango-1.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_string_free_and_steal
fixed using "mv libglib-2.0.so* _disabled/" in /opt/resolve/libs
After some time resolve stopped running. Again after many updates.
error ./resolve: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name
Looked at some suggestions, no luck so far.
Davinci Resolve stopped working, after update?
- Edited
I have a similar setup (laptop+Nvidia) with Davinci R.17 and I have no problems at the moment (from about 2 years).
Nice that R.17 is working for you. If you get around to installing R.18 in a different folder and run it let me know how it goes.
- download resolve for Linux
- Unzip the package.
- Install from the GUI:
- From the file browser, double-click the installer package.
- Enter the root password when prompted, and follow the instructions.
[] Like I said R18 was working, after some update ran into first issue. Easy to fix. No such luck after 2nd fault.
Debating on reinstalling to see if issue goes away. Was hoping next release of Solus was out, might try another distro for a bit. Would not be first time, I started with original Solus, been over the speed-bumps of its life. Will be back if reinstall does not work.
