Installation missing bios boot option

Hey there, I'm successfully getting through the install then I click restart and I get stuck, I check my computers bios and it didn't create a boot option for solus, the only option there is to boot from my thumb drive again.

I really want to use solus, hope someone can help me get it working on my asus laptop.

xdissy Are you installing in EFI or Legacy mode? Also which install method did you chose? Wipe disk? Install alongside Windows?

Ok, so first make sure you installed it with EFI not GRUB. How can you check it. When you try to boot from the pendrive, is it listed once or twice? If twice, choose option that has [EFI] option next to it.
You also could disable legacy boot and secure boot in BIOS/UEFI.

JacekJagosz Hello, i have the same issue, but my BIOS only allow me to select "LEGACY", "UEFI" or "UEFI with CSM", which one should i select to enable just "EFI" ?

I had the same issue when I installed. Solus freezes upon finishing install and even if i force shutdown and start the machine again there wont be a boot menu entry for solus, I had to manually add an entry from BIOS setup. This solved the boot menu entry problem for me.
Also make sure that secure boot etc are disabled as mentioned by JacekJagosz in his reply.

I chose to wipe disk and I didn't have windows I had a different Linux distro... I'm at work rn but when I get home I'll try what was suggested

shan9656 how did you manually add one? I don't know what I'm doing in bios menus... Did you follow a guide or know any good articles?

xdissy I read it somewhere. I'm running a Dell laptop so your BIOS must be different. The file you have to add is in the EFI/systemd, in the EFI partition. If the installation went right then this must be there in the EFI partition. Find a way to add it to your Boot sequence for your BIOS.
