Summer comes to the US Pacific Northwest

Yeah, this one's WAY off-topic.

I usually change the clothes in my closet from winter clothes (e.g. jeans and long-sleeve shirts to shorts and short-sleeve shirts) on Memorial Day in the US. And then, back to winter clothes on Labor Day in the fall. But since it's expected to reach the low 90s here in a few days, I decided to make the change today.

I am now wearing cargo shorts and my suseLinux T-shirt, and it feels great! (I wish it could be a Solus t-shirt, but at least it's Linux.)

WetGeek I dread PNW summers lately if only for the fire season. My dad and his wife moved to central Willamette Valley OR about 6 years ago and the last three summers have just been choke-a-thons from fires in the N and S and E and W.
It's ironic because the old goat, whose romatic spirit I love, googled "cleanest air in America" and the town he moved to was number #1 on the list for clean air. It's a sad ironic though, because his google list didn't adjust dad's town to #137th cleanest air in America factoring in the summer fires....(if I had to guess)🙁

Did the change-over a few weeks ago though.

I too have been rocking them. 5 or 6 pockets on heavy cotton is the way to roll.

Sorry about the air quality. At times it gets pretty bad in central Washington as well, and even makes it over the Cascades to Puget Sound. To me, it just smells like a campfire, but I understand it's pretty hard on folks with respiratory issues. Willamette Valley produces some excellent Pinot Noir, though. Gotta take the bad with the good, I guess.

WetGeek That central valley also has miles of something I've never seen before in my life til I went there: miles and miles of grass farms. That industry sells to football and soccer stadiums, consumers, etc. Best part of visiting Pop is there's always bald eagles. they are magnifient to see. Where I'm at there is only the lovely red-tail hawks but not in the summer. Lots of vultures only in the summer as far as birds of prey. But I digress🙂.

Not long ago I read that the scream of eagles is actually the sound of a red-tail hawk. It seems eagles are silent.

And vultures are garbage collectors, not birds of prey, but I'm sure you knew that.

Yeah, unfortunately eagles, or at least some varieties like the bald eagle, produce sounds that don't lend themselves as much to epic movie atmospheres

yep eagles sound nothing like redtails or chatty Harris's. they are quiet.
you ever see an eagle swoop down at 35mph and pluck the fish right off your fishing line after you hooked it?
that happened to me on a mountain lake and will always be an astounding memory

No, but I've seen a harbor seal do that in Puget Sound. Was a nice pink salmon, too. Fsckin' seal.
