Axios I just briefly tested ungoogled librewolf didnt look like they would fair much better on fingerprinting
didnt do any addons tho

yeah what I did not say was each had the same add on. I started using libre wolf for some things again lately. never hated it. it's a weird broswer. they say "we are a hardened and more secure browser than anybody out there and we have made it so you blend in with the crowd, too and not stick out." ----that actually makes no sense. you can't have bothof those things together that I know of.

you were right you can drive yrself crazy with all this. I certainly am today!🙂

This thread got me interested in testing my own browser - Vivaldi. I didn't notice whether anyone else had done that.

My Vivaldi browsers only use a single extension -- LastPass.

consider the amiunique website test:

^^ even self-proclaimed "hardened" librewolf is a sieve. all that info accurate. thats running the crappy (compared to umatrix) ublock origin only.

^^^here's my ungoogled chromium. another sieve on paper. uses my favorite addon called Trace and Decentralyze only. I am surprised Trace didn't mask a thing.

^^^ this is roll-up-my-sleeves DIY FF hardening, seemingly superior to Libre Wolf. Trace and Umatrix only. NONE ^ of that info is correct except EN. Nice, eh?

their criteria is different. are you unique? of course you are unique. maybe that's not the important thing? I'm a Windows-loving Safari user in hand-tightened FF🙂.

brent I did some testing at browserleaks.com/canvas Canvasblocker has problem with Uniqueness Calculation which I think is causing the problem. Hashes change but not sure of the good bad of that.
Because of the test at eff I dont remb that being broken in past.
(I noticed the hashes not right on the canvasblocker test site now i know why)

On brave
The signature and hashes are changing.
Brave changes those but only at start up so you have to restart brave (will have diff hashes at broswerleaks everytime you start brave)
Checked with webrowsertools to hashes are changing

Sooooooo on the amiunique website and ones like it you are going to look like that
(you got look at hashes)
I think the eff is prob the best telling you whats truly going on (that was checked by the hashes)
Who cares of your Uniqueness if it changes random follow?
So I can say brave is truly working from what I see for fingerprinting.

Hope I didnt confuse been through this before myself so its easy brings back memories...lol
Note if signature and png hash dont change your finger print isnt changing

If its clear as mud just ask.
All that crap with FF prob broke on all my other computers...sheesh

that picture of yours is from the most in-depth site I've seen call BrowserLeaks. that 100% is meh but they break your browser down in about 10 pages/10 categories. It's an exhausting look under the hood of yr browser but very interesting.
what you are showing is the image acoustics/size things that tracks you. it can be faked in some extensions, but just like in the beginning of this post, that's where to article said the most tracking was done.

Oh yeah I can read this stuff all day but I will be honest and admit I don't know what all these bits mean (good/bad) or the plus/minus, decimal points, etc but I understand (mostly) the concept of entropy.
With a little force all someone would need is your permanent and fixed font library to identify you....but font libraries are all ootb to so they should all look alike?
Eh, this stuff is so easy to overthink and I overthink easily

would be better at fingerprint but it wasnt and brave surprised the heck out of me.
And a person needs to check his extensions from time to time.

Been some confusion I think for some
Brave as tested is the only browser that handles fingerprinting properly if you turn it off
in shields its just like any other browser.
Firefox is suppose to have it but I cant tell exactly whats going on so its questionable.
The extension Canvasblocker seems to be not working properly so its questionable to.
https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/ is properly reporting fingerprinting
If your fingerprint hashes arent changing you can be tracked.

Hope this helps clear up my above posts for those interested in the subject

Found this website it confirms what I was saying brave is actively randomizing the fingerprints!
Plus it does it on new tabs to that I missed..

Axios pretty interesting review. like me, he lamented the lack of pinpoint configurability in Brave (any chrome) vs. FF. I've always used Brave on and off in the past, it's reliable, but lately I'm going away from browsers with a lot bells and whistles. I used to run towards them🙂.
But that randomization thing awesome.
