Why does brave always ask for keychain or whatever at startup I can enter it and it will ask again
when I start it up.
Did it with budgie and mate?

Axios this has never happened to me in brave.
this has to be some brave setting you accidentally tripped? or
do you have gnome-keyring or seahorse activated/running in the background when you boot up?

brent I havent messed with any password or keyring stuff at all
never did on budgie either I installed it from softwarecenter when it was doing it on budgie I was using
the one I downloaded from brave website.
I would like to use as backup browser but cant stand that so I deleted it maybe someone has a solution
      for it.
Havent installed any password stuff either

it did it on software center Brave and brave website package both that's odd.
Fedora doesn't curate that so I had to get the RPM from Brave but still didn't have that keyring thing when I used it.
You get it in both versions.
And it happens in both DEs (mate and budgie).

two different operating systems and two different browser packages, with same keyring prompt behavior in all instances...that's a weird one.

      I'm stumped.

unless a similar mate sys setting and budgie sys setting that you liked during setup but...where is this extra layer of security for a web browser coming from?
edit: sounds like SELinux silliness but do we even use that on solus?

brent I just thought of something I auto login when turning computer on
maybe that has something to do with it will test later.
It shouldnt but maybe it does

          Axios interesting.
I've read about subtle behavior changes when autologging vs password prompt before. maybe. ok talk to ya later

axios what DE are you using.? I looked on line and looks like brave is using gnome-keyring app for that password function. Look in software center and see if it is installed. if you are not on gnome i believe you can safely uninstall it .

axios i talked to people in the chat room . best advice i got for you is to live with it. good luck

tuxlover4 if you are not on gnome i believe you can safely uninstall it .

NO. Definitely don't uninstall gnome-keyring if you're on Budgie or MATE (or GNOME obviously). There is a very real chance this will screw up your system (and will remove a number of other important packages too).

I set comp for password login installed brave again now it appears that its fixed
but I dont know if i want sign into comp all the time will have to decide.
Then I found this and it worked but will have to study it abit to make sure there are no ill side effects.

            Guess good info to know
I love mate it never bites back..lol

Axios "Then I found this and it worked but will have to study it abit to make sure there are no ill side effects."
that fix link was so convoluted my eyes glazed over..glad you made it to the end for the fix! Be interested to know if it holds. Uninstalling Brave then resetting the password stuff was smart too. Congrats.
