Chinese Keyboard

I have tried installing a Chinese keyboard from the language settings and have tried installing most of the results when I search for Chinese in the software centre but have still had no luck

Take a look at this for general guidance. I've not attempted to install anything other than the Dvorak keyboard layout, but I believe something similar would work for a keyboard layout for another language.

I got an English keyboard, so I installed that to begin with. Followed these steps for the Budgie desktop to get chinese keyboard https://getsol.us/articles/configuration/configuring-keyboard-layout/en/ (I use zhuyin keyboard, so installed those packages) and tweaked the settings to my liking in the Region&Language settings. To begin with it seemed okay except that when I press space it didn't show the candidates, a bug with Ibus apparently.

Luckily I found this post https://dev.getsol.us/T3066 and that gave me the script that fixed the Ibus candidate bug:

sudo eopkg it ibus ibus-libpinyin ibus-libzhuyin mkdir -p ~/.config/autostart cat > ~/.config/autostart/IBus.desktop <<EOF [Desktop Entry] Type=Application Name=IBus Description= Exec=/usr/bin/ibus-daemon -r -d EOF

If you are looking for pinyin IME (汉语拼音输入法), try:

Installing libpinyin & ibus-libpinyin, two ways to do it:
1.a. via terminal:
$ sudo eopkg install libpinyin ibus-libpinyin; OR
1.b. via GUI (Software Center): Search for "pinyin", select and install 2 softwares: libpinyin-2.3.0 and Pinyin-1.11.1
Go to System Setting (I'm using KDI, it is under Menu > System）select and click "Ibus Preferences"
at pop up windows, agree to start running the Ibus daemon
Click "Input Method" tab, click "Add" button
Select & click Chinese from the pop-up list, then select "Inteligent Pinyin"
Logout and Login
Use "Ctrl" + "Tab" keys to activate the Input Method.
Try it on internet browser or LibreOffice.

Hi all, I try to make use a Taiwan input method "DAYI". I make use of SCIM to proceed that before, but it is not found in oepkg so far. For FCITX and IBUS i tried in oepkg, the pkgs found and installed are still not supported for DAYI. Well, i spend few days to search and still not working out.

Anyone could you please help/advise? Many thanks.
