Hi all!
I've recently installed a few Snaps on Solus (KDE) and have been pleasantly surprised to see that the problem with empty squares is not present on Solus.
Let me elucidate: On non-Ubuntu distros, there is a common issue with some Snaps (e.g. Bitwarden) not rendering fonts correctly, where instead of text there are just a bunch of empty squares. I've seen loads of complaints about this over the years in every distro imaginable - but for some reason this works perfectly on Solus.
My question is: do the Solus devs do something to their Snap implementation to make it work like it does in Ubuntu? Do you tweak something in the font/font-cache settings or whatever else? Mainly asking because this could be the solution to the many users who are experiencing this on non-Ubuntus.
TIA.
