brent I asked regarding this, I just had a quick look, I didn't follow the discussion in detail.

I think I'll just wait for the Team to respond.

The team does not participate to every topics on the forum. If it appears a problem is a bug, it should be reported so it can be tracked and a fix will be released if necessary.

kyrios No problem. The gist of this thread is Evince used to open up postscript files. After the last update, it no longer does. The OP needs this for work and no other software we can think (in repo) seems to open postscript.

brent Then if it's just about evince, I see in the build options that the postscript support is disabled by default. That's easy to fix.

kyrios Nice find. OP would just have to edit a specific (.sh?) file, changing 'disabled' to 'auto.'

brent It's just an option the packager has to set at build time (look line 35). This one is easy because it doesn't require any extra dependency but it's not always that simple.

kyrios Not an .sh edit but yml, at the build. No dependencies to worry about. I got an education today. Almost like I'm starting to understand what you do all day!

Sorry for my obsessive interest in helping you. In another lifetime I used to manipulate troublesome postscript for a living to conform to an industry standard, and I used to know every trick in the book, and many appllications, that would bend the .ps to my will. None evident here, sorry!

Build server has built it, just needs to be sync'ed to stable in next run (this weekend) or cherry picked.

Apologies for disappearing off the face of the earth, I never got a notification about your posts. I just noticed now there was an update for evince and after that it opened the PS documents again so all is back to normal and came to post that and spotted the bunch of replies. Thanks for the assistance @brent & @kyrios , much appreciated.
